Case Study: Capacity Building Workshop for Nonprofits. NCVO Ghana in Partnership with Deloitte

This transformative workshop took place from November 26th to 29th, 2024, and aimed to equip nonprofits across the country and beyond with the essential skills and tools needed to drive success in a challenging landscape.

Why This Workshop Mattered

In Africa, over 70% of nonprofits face the daunting challenge of inadequate funding and resources, while 60% struggle with strategic planning and execution. Recognizing these critical issues, NCVO Ghana and Deloitte is dedicated to bridging the gap through impactful capacity-building initiatives. This workshop provided a unique opportunity for participants to enhance their capabilities and make a lasting impact in their communities.

Event Details

Over the course of four engaging sessions, we welcomed more than 400 participants who joined us online to learn from industry experts. Here’s a look at the sessions:

Fundraising Strategies for Non-Profits
Date: November 26, 2024

Facilitator: Caspy Opuni, Manager at Deloitte Ghana with over 10 years of experience in financial advisory services.

Strategic Planning for Non-Profits
Date: November 27, 2024

Facilitator: Abena Adomaa Sika, a Chartered Marketer with extensive experience in strategy development and marketing at Deloitte.

Monitoring and Evaluation / AI for Non-Profits
Date: November 28, 2024

Facilitators: Augustine Kaah, a seasoned technology consultant at Deloitte, and John Kitcher, a consulting manager with expertise in Monitoring and Evaluation.

What Participants Gained

This workshop was designed to empower NGOs with essential skills to thrive in today’s dynamic environment. Participants gained insight into innovative fundraising techniques, strategic planning, effective monitoring and evaluation using AI, and brand marketing strategies tailored for nonprofits.
