Our esteemed CEO, Ambassador Shirley Abedi Boafo, was selected to receive a prestigious Africa-UK Business Award. She was honored in the EXCELLENCE IN NON-PROFIT SECTOR DEVELOPMENT AND GROWTH LEADERSHIP category , recognizing her outstanding capabilities, conduct, and accomplishments.
Ambassador Abedi Boafo was formally invited by The Business Executive Media Group, the organizers of the awards, to the five-star gala Awards Conferment Event which took place on 25th April, 2025. The conference and awards focused on the theme: “EXPANDING TRADE AND INVESTMENT RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN AFRICA AND THE UK”
NCVO GHANA CEO Received Ambassador for Peace Award!
NCVO GHANA proudly announced that our CEO, Ms. Shirley Abedi-Boafo, received the prestigious Ambassador for Peace Award from the Universal Peace Federation (UPF) Ghana Chapter.
This distinguished recognition was conferred upon her during the UPF’s End-of-Year Assembly and Awards Nite, which took place on December 9, 2021, at the Alisa Hotel in Ridge. Mrs. Abedi-Boafo’s nomination was based on her numerous positive contributions towards humanity, which are in line with the UPF’s ideals, principles, and values.

The event, which focused on recognizing leadership and contributions towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), was held on January 7, 2020. The prestigious ceremony took place at the University Hall, Katanga KNUST. This recognition highlights Mrs. Abedi-Boafo’s dedication and leadership in the nonprofit sector and her commitment to advancing the SDG 17 Partnership for the Goals.
African Union 13th High-Level Dialogue
On July 27th – 30th July 2025, Staff of NCVO Ghana attended the African Union 13th High-Level Dialogue on Democracy, Human Rights, and Governance, under the theme; Justice, Rights, Reparation & State Building.
OFFICIAL LAUNCH OF THE AFFIRMATIVE ACTION ( GENDER EQUITY) ACT 2024 ACT 1121
On July 31st 2025 there was a Historic launch of Ghana’s Affirmative Action (Gender Equity) Act, 2024 (Act 1121) at the International Conference Center, An Act to provide for affirmative action for gender equity in the public and private sectors and for related purposes.
